What is Norethisterone?
Norethisterone is a hormone tablet used to temporarily delay your period. It’s commonly used when you want to avoid bleeding for a special event such as a holiday, wedding, sports competition, or religious occasion.
It does not stop periods permanently — once you stop taking the tablets, your period will usually start within a few days.
How It Works:
Norethisterone is a synthetic version of the hormone progesterone. It keeps the lining of the womb stable so it does not shed, which prevents your period from starting while you are taking it.
Directions for Use:

Start taking the tablets 3 days before your period is due to start.

Take one tablet three times a day.

Continue taking it for as long as you want to delay your period (usually up to 10–14 days unless your prescriber advises otherwise).

When you stop the tablets, your period should start within 2–3 days
