What is Finasteride?
Finasteride 1mg is a prescription treatment for male pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia). It works by lowering levels of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), the hormone responsible for shrinking hair follicles, helping to slow hair loss and encourage regrowth.
How it works:
Finasteride blocks the action of the 5-alpha reductase enzyme, which reduces the conversion of testosterone into DHT. By lowering DHT levels in the scalp, hair follicles are protected from further shrinkage, helping to maintain existing hair and promote regrowth over time. Results are typically seen after 3–6 months of consistent daily use.
Usage:
Take one tablet (1mg) orally once daily, with or without food, as directed by your prescriber.
Do not exceed the recommended dose.
If you stop taking Finasteride, hair loss is likely to resume within 6–12 months.
