Secure Identity Verification

To ensure safe and legal dispensing of medication, i-prescribe requires a brief identity check. This process is encrypted, takes less than 60 seconds, and helps us verify that your prescriptions are being handled securely. Your data privacy is our highest priority.

How It Works

1. Select & Capture

Choose your preferred government-issued photo ID (Passport, Driver’s License, or ID Card). Follow the on-screen prompts to take a clear, well-lit readable photo of your document using your smartphone or webcam.

2. Quick Liveness Check

To ensure it’s really you, you’ll be asked to perform a brief "Liveness Check." Simply look into your camera and follow the instructions to scan your face. This prevents identity theft and ensures only you can access your prescriptions.

3. Instant Approval

Our secure AI system, powered by Shufti Pro, verifies your details in real-time. Once approved (usually within 60 seconds), you’ll be automatically redirected to complete your order or access your patient dashboard.

3 Simple Steps to getting verified

1. Capture Your ID

When prompted, select your document type and country. Hold your ID in front of your camera.

Tip: Make sure all four corners of the ID are visible and the text is not blurry.

Avoid: Using a photocopy or a picture of a screen; it must be the original physical document.

2. The “Liveness” Check
The system will ask you to look into your camera and perform a quick facial scan. This ensures that the person behind the screen matches the ID provided.

Tip: Remove hats, glasses, or masks so your face is clearly visible.

3. Instant Results
Once submitted, the AI will process your data in seconds. You will see a “Verification Successful” message and be automatically redirected back to your order or patient dashboard.

Troubleshooting

"Camera not found" Error Message

Ensure you have granted your browser permission to use the camera. Failure to do so will result in camera not found error.

Ensure there is no “glare” from overhead lights reflecting off the plastic on your ID. Cleaning your plastic ID cards to remove grease can sometimes help.

If your verification fails, don’t worry! Our clinical team will be notified, and we may reach out to verify you manually. If you have placed your order and verification has failed, your order will be on hold. You can contact our team using details on our ‘contact us‘ page to initiate a manual verification check.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why do I need to verify my identity?

As a regulated healthcare provider, we are legally required to ensure that prescriptions are issued to the correct person. This prevents medical identity theft and ensures we comply with pharmaceutical safety standards.

Yes. We use Shufti Pro, a globally recognized leader in secure identity verification. Your data is encrypted using 256-bit SSL technology and is handled in strict accordance with GDPR and HIPAA (healthcare privacy) standards. Your ID is only used for verification and is never shared for marketing purposes.

You can use any valid, government-issued photo ID, including:

  • Passport

  • Driver’s License

  • National Identity Card

  • Residence Permit

  • Bank Statements
  • Utility / Council Tax Bills

The most common reasons for a failed check are:

  • Glare or Shadows: Light reflecting off the ID’s plastic can hide important details.

  • Cropped Images: All four corners of the ID must be visible in the frame.

  • Expired ID: Ensure your document is still valid.

  • Low Resolution: If the text is blurry, the AI cannot read it. Try taking the photo in natural daylight.

The verification process requires a camera to perform a “Liveness Check.” If your current device doesn’t have one, you can open the verification link on any smartphone with a working camera to complete the process.

Once you submit your ID and selfie, the AI typically processes the results in 30 to 60 seconds. In rare cases where a manual review is needed, it may take up to an hour.

If the camera won’t start, please check your browser settings to ensure you have granted camera permissions. If you are still stuck, try switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data or using a different web browser (Chrome and Safari are recommended).
